DOKKAEBI is a Seoul-based art and sound collective exploring the intersection of ritual, technology, and performance. Formed by artists working across music, AI voice, and site-specific performances, the group transforms field recordings, coded voices, and embodied acts into contemporary rituals. Drawing from the Korean myth of the 도깨비—a mischievous spirit that mediates between worlds—they construct immersive environments where sound and memory coexist. Their works often unfold across distributed locations, evolving through long-term cycles of recording, performance, and digital archiving.

Through projects such as the seven rites, echo network, and 49 rituals, DOKKAEBI reimagines how humans can inherit and perform memory. Each piece functions as both an experiment and a living archive—an evolving conversation between human and nonhuman. Blending voices, modular sound systems, and field ambience, DOKKAEBI proposes a new form of techno-ritual: a space where technology does not simulate life, but becomes part of its ongoing transformation.
